Vancouver, July 28th, 2022 – Messages from Artist Claudia Wiebe
Silk Purse Art Centre:
Please mark your calendars: I am excited to announce that I will be participating in a month-long exhibition at the Silk Purse Arts Centre in West Vancouver – from July 27 to August 21.
The theme of the exhibition is \”Broadening the Horizon\”, and it will include artworks from three local artists. More details can be found on the West Van Arts Council Website here.
During the exhibition, I will be showcasing some of my recent artwork and I will also be at the gallery in-person on Thursday August 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. August 4th is the last day of the 2022 West Van Arts Council \”First Thursday Art Walks\”. You can download an Art Walk map to see all of the participating venues. I also plan to make a couple of other in-person visits to the gallery, but those dates/times have yet to be scheduled…
The Silk Purse Gallery is located in Ambleside, at 1570 Argyle Street, West Vancouver – adjacent to John Lawson Park. This location is also part of the Harmony Arts Festival, a 10-day event promoting the arts and offering food, entertainment and activities for people of all ages. If you are planning to attend the Harmony Arts Festival, please take a few minutes to drop into the Silk Purse Gallery and check out my exhibition.
Hopefully we can get an opportunity to connect at the gallery. Regardless, I would love to hear from you and get your impressions if you stop by the exhibition.
Follow-Up Information
In addition to being at the gallery for the \”Art Walk\” on Aug. 4 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, I have added two more dates where I will be there to speak about my art. They are:
- Saturday, July 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
- Sunday, Aug. 7 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm
It would be wonderful if we can connect in person and I hope one of these times fits in your calendar. This also coincides with the Harmony Arts Festival, so there are lots of other activities to take in.
Last night we held the virtual opening of the exhibition and Connie O\’Connor and I participated in an artist talk that is now available to watch on youtube:
Truly hope you are having a great summer, especially since we have such hot weather now. Wishing you a great long weekend and looking forward to seeing you soon.
Claudia
