Obituary for Rolf Fritz Eberhardt Kipferling
Rolf Fritz Eberhardt Kipferling, born August 14, 1941, in Edenkoben, Germany, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on November 22, 2025.
Rolf immigrated to Canada as a teenager with his family. A lifelong curiosity for the world and a love of exploration eventually led him to Mexico, where he lived, worked, taught, and embraced the Mexican way of life before later returning to Vancouver. Through hard work, resilience, and determination, he built a successful freight-forwarding business that supported his family and allowed him to continue pursuing travel and cultural discovery.
Rolf had a deep appreciation for music, sailing, hiking, and biking, and above all, meaningful conversations with people from all walks of life. He valued experience over possessions and found great joy in learning, storytelling, and connection.
Rolf is survived by his daughters, Yvonne (Kevin), Grace (Justin), and Ingrid (Thomas), and by his beloved grandchildren: Sofia, Chanelle, Andrew, Jessica, Matthew, Jeffrey, Ryan, and Christopher.
He will be remembered for his curiosity, his love of meeting people, his deep friendships, and the genuine pride and devotion he had for his family. His warmth, stories, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Friday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life reception from 1:00–4:30 p.m. at the UBC Golf Club, 5185 University Boulevard, Vancouver. Please RSVP as soon as possible – Ingrid: +1 (604) 512-9365:
