German Talk: The vision of independence through a circular economy: Is that even technologically feasible?
October 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
ehr geehrte Damen und Herren, (Note: This Event is in German only and it takes place in Germany)
liebe Mitglieder, Teamleiter, Saarlandbotschafter und Interessenten,
The world has changed: Geopolitical shifts are threatening traditional supply chains, along with our economic resilience and technological independence. On the other hand, the growing CO2 emissions and fossil fuel consumption must be overcome if we want to preserve societal stability and protect the climate.
The visionary solution to both challenges lies in the consistent development of the circular economy! How far are we technologically from achieving this vision, and how do we get there? A significant portion of our material production and mobility infrastructure will be difficult to decarbonize. Can we develop viable alternatives, all the way to an efficient carbon cycle and new methods of material processing?
The German Academy of Science and Engineering, acatech, has introduced a roadmap for the first time within the Circular Economy Initiative Germany. Additionally, we will take you on a journey with insights from the U.S. and a global perspective. Lastly, we will focus on our region, where the European Center for Circular Economy of Materials & Metals is emerging as a flagship project.
